AUSTRALIAN HAIRDRESSING COUNCIL LAUNCHES INDUSTRY SPECIFIC RECRUITMENT SITE FOR HAIRDRESSING, BARBERING AND BEAUTY INDUSTRIES

To support the hairdressing, beauty and barbering industries grow and prosper in the small business sector and address current employment challenges, the Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) will launch a new industry specific recruitment site – HeadHunter Recruitment – on 8th June 2020.

HairBiz Forum 2020 Cancelled and AHIA Postponed

As promised, we have been monitoring the situation on a daily basis and have an update to our previous correspondence. Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 via travellers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. It has now been recommended to event organisers to cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more and so with that in mind:- 1. HairBiz Forum will be cancelled for 2020. 2. Important Notice regarding Hair Biz Forum and AHIA Re: Corona Virus

The team at Mocha Publishing have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation over recent days. The Australian Government have announced that as of Monday 16th March 2020 all non-essential gatherings of over 500 people should be avoided and that all international travellers arriving into Australia will need to self-quarantine for 14 days. Owner of Mocha Publishing, Linda Woodhead has been attending a conference in Bali where she was a keynote speaker and so the 14-day quarantine will apply to her on her return. Our priority is to ensure the safety, health and well-being of the members of our Hair and Beauty community through our events and awards.

Aussies Shine at the International Hairdressing Awards

Lisa Polini and Dee Parker Attwood were named as two of the five winners of the 2020 International Hairdressing Awards, which took place in Ifema, Madrid, on 16th February with a glittering awards ceremony and a catwalk show. The winners in the five categories were revealed, among the fifteen finalists, coming from all over the world. The 2020 International Hairdressing Awards are a wrap: about one thousand professionals from 30 different countries of the world have attended the great night of the international hairdressing industry, an indisputable consolidation in their second year. The International Hairdressing Awards have taken place in Madrid - Ifema today at 7:30 p.m., with live broadcast on the Internet and a glittering awards ceremony.
